Emmeline Webb 2016 - BESIDE THE SEA, Original mixed media painting on canvas.

I am very excited to announce I will be participating in my first trade fair this September. I am currently working my little socks off producing new artwork, paintings and designs for this event. There will be a range of products created with my designs including textiles, table ware and gifts. I'll keep you posted as they evolve. All the products will be available for my solo show in The Art Nest Gallery this October, to celebrate the galleries 5th Anniversary.

Here are 4 new botanical illustrations for my up and coming exhibition at The Art Nest Gallery. The exhibition begins on 26th June 2015 and runs until 1st August. In this show you can see the original watercolours that were the starting point for the illustrations. These have then been digitally collaged and repeated for use on soft furnishings, silk scarves and greetings cards. Come along for a look if you're in the area.

As you can see, this is the first time i've been here. I've been thinking about doing this blog for far too long - so I hope it was worth the wait!

I've been working on new illustrations for an up and coming exhibition at my little shop, The Art Nest in Hitchin. These drawings will make up a new collection of greetings cards, some bone china mugs, limited edition prints and pretty floral silk scarves. You will be able to buy these in the gallery or online from mid June.

The Blue Hyacinths are a returning theme, I made my first floral range of cards in 2010 and the blue hyacinth featured in this (see bottom image). I love these little blue spring flowers. Hyacinths to me represent new life and the optimsm of spring. The scent they have reminds me winter is almost gone and spring is just around the corner. I always buy the bulbs in January/ February and by March the house is filled with their joyfull scent and colour. The new reworked design has a mixture of drawing, watercolour and digital collage, this time focusing more on the bulbs too. I will keep you updated on the rest of the collection as it unfolds.
